Layout Samples
A secret page for some examples of how to do pages.
This is a HEADING block, aka headline
Headings come in various flavors: H1, H2, H3, etc. with H1 being (usually) the biggest and denoting the most important thing on the page. Think of headings as delineating sections of the page. Try not to think of them as just a way to make text big and bold. Google notices headings more than paragraphs.
This is a paragraph block.
You’ll notice that as you’re typing, you’re prompted with “Type / to choose a block.” This will become more handy as you get used to the kind of blocks you want to use. If I type “/col” the system knows I want a new COLUMNS block and give me the following (I’ve added text):
Column 1
This is a columns block
Column 2
I’ve given a border to this column and the columns block that contains it to show you how that works.
Column 3
There’s a little line above this paragraph. That’s a SEPARATOR and it can be formatted in various ways.
- Thing 1
- Thing 2
- Thing 3
- This is a LIST BLOCK. Ordered lists have numbers; unordered list (like this one) usually have bullets.
“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country,” Anon.
This is a Pullquote block
This is a QUOTE block. I’m never sure when to use QUOTE and PULLQUOTE. Also know that these can be styled in various ways.
