Visit
The Great Harbor Maritime Museum is open seasonally, during the summer and fall, but are happy to make our resources accessible during the the off season as well.
Collections:
The Great Harbor Maritime Museum features changing exhibits. Past exhibits have included steamship transportation on Mt. Desert Island and model boat exhibitions.

Facilities:
The Great Harbor Maritime Museum operates out of the former Municipal Building on Main Street, Northeast Harbor. The municipal offices now serve as storage and work areas, while ground floor spaces that originally housed the Northeast Harbor Fire Company serve as our exhibition spaces. Despite alterations to make the building an effective museum, evidence of its original use is readily apparent. For instance, the original town jail is located immediately next to the space where children now do art!
The museum is located on 124 Main Street in Northeast Harbor, next to the gas station and in the center of the village.
Hours:
Monday–Saturday: 10:30 a.m.– 5 p.m.
Sunday: closed
We are happy to accommodate group visits. Please send us an email.
